At Philip’s Academy Paterson, we strive to build academically skilled students and develop students' social-emotional competencies in an inclusive and equitable environment. Active teaching and learning are at the heart of every classroom. Teachers use individual student data to drive instruction and students take continuous steps forward with focused time on task. In our classrooms, learning is social and creative expression is celebrated. Students engage in developmentally appropriate lessons through multiple modalities and explore content through the use of technology and an EcoSpaces Education lens. In an environment where teachers have high expectations and provide high support, students demonstrate a growth mindset and self-efficacy. As a result students know how to be problem-seekers and problem-solvers who actively engage in the global community – to change the world.
